Ellisville Children’s Services

The Children’s Department of the Ellisville Public Library offers a variety of programs and materials to encourage reading and literacy in children of all ages.

Programs:

Storyzone features themed stories read aloud to children followed by a related craft or activity. This program is every Thursday at 3:30 pm for ages 5 to 12.

The Friends of the Ellisville Public Library presents family friendly events, programs, and crafts throughout the year.

Summer Reading features themed activities and demonstrations to encourage children to enjoy reading and learning. These special events feature performers, story tellers, art, games, laughter, and lots of page turning fun for all ages. These summertime programs are usually held in the month of June.

Collection for children:

Easy book section features board books and picture books for children from 0 to 3rd grade.

Juvenile Fiction book section features chapter books for children in 2nd to 6th grade.

Young Adult book section features books for children in 7th grade and up.

Audio and Video book for children of all ages.

Learning Area for Children:

Reading Area features bright, comfortable seating area for children to read. Also have toys, coloring sheets, puzzles for children to play with.

Children’s Computer with a touch screen that helps teach important technical skills and features a variety of educational games in English and Spanish. This Early Learning Station was funded under the Federal Library Services and Technology Act administered by the Mississippi Library Commission for the institute of Museum and Library Services.
